Frugal Friday

November 28, 2009
Part of the fun of the Christmas season is decorating. Who doesn’t love the (sometimes) elaborate light displays that people come up with?

Now, we don’t even come close to this kind of light display but I have figured out how to make one of those cute little spiral Christmas trees.

You will need:
tomato stand
rope light
Turn your tomato stand upside down and wrap the lights around the stand. Start at the top of the stand and work your way down. Don’t forget to allow for which end needs to be plugged in. You may need an extension cord. You could add a star at the top if you choose
That’s it!
Here is a picture of ours.
That’s it! Now sit back and enjoy a cup of egg nog while listening to Christmas carols.

Now that is one of the most brilliantly easy/frugal Christmas decorating ideas I have ever seen. Off to find my tomato cages!

Who would have thought?! Very clever way to reuse tomato cages.
